Welcome to Digital Media Issues. I’m excited about meeting all of you and getting started with the class. We’ll be discussing a range of digital media issues, starting with some background and foundational materials, then moving to contemporary topics. I want to hear about your interests. This course is a hybrid, so we’ll have online exercises every other week.

In this course, we will examine the Internet and other digital technologies and discuss their relationship with communication. Issues discussed will include social media, innovation, emerging technologies, media theories and the impact of digital media technologies on society and culture. This is a graduate seminar, so your input is important. Students will have an active hand in discussing course topics.

This website will provide all the information you need for this course. Please check it frequently for announcements and assignments.

The structure of the class will be primarily readings, videos, quizzes and assignments. The class culminates in a final research project.
